Caitlin Patterson, Secretary of Finance
Hey everyone! I’m Caitlin and a senior majoring in finance and history. I live only an hour away from school in Virginia Beach. At school I am involved with Club Field Hockey and the James Blair Historical Review. I spend much of my time in Miller, unfortunately, either attending something for the Finance Academy or studying my life away. In my spare time I enjoy reading, especially books about history, watching the E! channel, “Keeping up with the Kardashians” is my guilty pleasure, and doing activities like kayaking on lake Matoaka or rock climbing at the gym. I am new to the SA, but hope to serve the students well as Secretary of Finance. I want to bring more transparency and insure that the student organizations get the money they need and deserve. If you have any questions at all please contact me at cmpatterson@email.wm.edu.
Emil Iqbal, Undersecretary of Finance
Emil is a Junior at the College majoring in Chemistry. He is from Richmond, Virginia. On campus, he is a TA for the Chemistry department, an executive board member of Alpha Phi Omega, and of the South Asian Student Association. He enjoys running and going to the rec center. After his undergraduate years at the College, he would like to serve a year in AmeriCorps, followed by graduate school for Chemistry.
Ellie Bennett, Undersecretary of Finance

As undersecretary to Finance, Ellie hopes to improve transparency for the student organization funding process. In addition to serving on the Student Assembly, Ellie is a member of the Bone Marrow Drive Steering Committee and the Student Alumni Council. Her other interests include the Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Phillies. Cara Ferraro, Deputy Secretary of Internal Auditing
HI! My name is Cara Ferraro and I am the Deputy Secretary of Internal Auditing. I’m majoring in Accounting with a concentration in Finance and a minor in East Asian Studies, aaaand, I have no life. Just kidding. When I’m not studying in Miller or Swem, I spend the rest of my time doing my campus activities, continuing my addiction to trashy tv shows, or trying to squeeze into fitness classes at the Rec Center. I play violin in the orchestra and also play IM sports like football and soccer on the orchestra’s teams. Besides that, I participate actively in CARES (Collegiate Awareness Regarding Eating Smart), an organization designed to raise awareness of eating disorders and to promote healthy body images among students. I look forward to working with everyone in the Finance department to improve the efficiency and transparency of the department and its interactions with the college’s Student Affairs and Finance departments. It’s important to have someone auditing the organization and establishing methods that future students can use to consistently perform audits and thereby ensure that the integrity of everyone remains in tact.
