Mackenzie Wenner, Chief of Staff

I’m delighted to be serving the students of William & Mary this year through my role as Chief of Staff. My department primarily acts as an administrative support system for the entire executive branch. Together with Deputy CoS Stuart Veal, I also work with the Senate advocating bills that serve the community.

Unlike some of my veteran colleagues I became involved in the SA only last year through my role as manager of the Curt & Melanie campaign. Curt has been one of my close friends since sophomore year and I am proud to say I was among the first urging him to run. The campaign, with its long days and nights, solidified my interest in the SA and my desire to bring the kind of organizational and managerial skills to the table that helped the ticket back in March.

I am an Economics and Government major here at the College. I am also the former President and current Captain of the US Collegiate Champion Croquet Team. Despite this considerable athletic credential my other interests are primarily sedentary. If you would like to serve the Executive in any capacity please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.

Stuart Veal, Deputy Chief of Staff

Hi, my name is Stuart Veal. I’m a sophomore economics and philosophy major, and I currently serve as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Curt and Melanie. My position is unique in that it is not tied to a particular department. I function instead as a resource for all of our secretaries, and I get the chance to work on all sorts of executive initiatives. I’m looking forward to working with our great team, and helping the SA function at full capacity this year. When I’m not working with the SA, you can find me spending time with the brothers of Beta Theta Pi, or practicing with the Croquet Club.

Ariel Cohen, Communications Director

Hi Everyone! This is my third year at the College, and I’m more in love with it than ever. When I’m not doing communications for the SA you can find me working away in the Flat Hat office, volunteering with Brownie Troop 1110, laughing in the Kappa Delta House, chatting at the Daily Grind or running through Colonial Williamsburg. Writing has always been primary passion, but giving back to the community falls a close second, and that’s how I found myself here on the Student Assembly. Through my role as Communications Director I hope to more effectively communicate the SA’s goals and happenings to the entire student body while voicing YOUR opinions as well! Go Tribe!

T.J. O’Sullivan, Senior Counselor to the President

I am a senior double majoring in History and Accounting from a town just outside San Francisco, California. Previously the Editor in Chief of The Virginia Informer, I now serve as a senior counselor to the SA President and chair of the Elections Commission. Elections are vital to the life of the Student Assembly in terms of the renewal of its mission to represent and serve students. I hope to ensure that elections over the next year and in the future are more fair, consistent, and smoothly run. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time outdoors with a good book or good friends. For more information regarding SA elections please email me.

Gabe Walker, Senior Counselor to the President

I am a third year law student at William & Mary. Before law school, I attended Virginia Commonwealth University where I graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Marketing. At VCU I served as Student Body President, a former Director of Student Affairs, and a Residential Assistant.

As a member of the Cabinet I look forward to advising the Executive on various initiatives drawing from my own background in student government.

I currently serve in multiple capacities beyond the SA, including being the Vice-President of the Sports & Entertainment Law Society, a Student Admissions Ambassador and an Assistant Justice for the Law School Honor Council. He also volunteers with the America Reads program in Williamsburg.

After graduation, Gabriel plans to pursue a career as an attorney working in labor & employment law and business / commercial litigation.
