Senator Gardner

Committee Assignments: Finance, Policy
Hi, my name is Matt Gardner and I am a senior from Arlington, Virginia. I am a Marketing and Classical Civilization double major, so my time in class is divided between the one of nicest buildings on campus and Morton. I was inspired to run for Senate by my former roommate Joe Mehan who was a senator for the class of 2012. Outside of class I am involved in Catholic Campus Ministry, Students for Life, and the Knights of Columbus. On Senate I am a member of the Finance Committee and the Policy Committee. I hope to serve my constituents well this year.

Senator Bardhan

Committee Assignments: Outreach (Chair), Student Life

A native of Calcutta, India, I’ve been lucky enough to become a part of several wonderful organizations here at the College of William and Mary. In addition to serving the Class of 2013 as a Senator in the Student Assembly, I am the Executive President of the Inter-Fraternity Council and an active brother in both Kappa Alpha Order and Alpha Phi Omega, a national service fraternity. I also serve on the Committee for Alcohol & Substance Abuse along with several other students and administrators. In my “free” time, I help customers shop at J.Crew, where I am somehow still employed even after electrocuting my boss with a walkie-talkie. This past summer, I had the good fortune of interning at the Government Relations Office of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, a position from which I met hundreds of America’s political leaders and experienced firsthand the procedural details of policy development. Upon finishing my undergraduate degree, I hope to pursue a career that allows me to make a positive difference in my community. When not working or pretending to study, I enjoy drinking tea, reading historical fiction, playing sports and talking to my dog.

Senator Lovern

Committee Assignments: Outreach, Student Life

Hello, my name is Steven Lovern, and I am from Dinwiddie, Virginia. I am a government major with a business minor. One of the most rewarding experiences I have had at William & Mary thus far is leading an international service trip to Nicaragua through Bridges to Community. In addition, I have been an Orientation Aide for two years. This is my first year in the Student Assembly, and I am excited to bring a new voice to the senate.
