Charter Day has been seen by many students (who know what it is) in the past as something that is only meant for people who are either on the Board of Visitors, or are old enough to be up at 9 am on a Saturday morning. This school year the College will be celebrating its 318th birthday in February, and this one won’t be like the last 317. The Student Assembly, along with AMP, decided that this needed to change. For the first time, Charter Day will be a real celebration.
On September 28th, The Student Assembly was able to allocate up to $50,000 to AMP in order to throw a Charter Day Concert in William and Mary Hall. Working in conjunction with the President’s office, AMP, Student Affairs, and the Office of University Development the SA is going to help make Charter day the celebration that it should be.
